  • OVERVIEW

    • 3-Day Class (24 hrs): Tuesday - Thursday, 8am - 4pm
    • Optional Certification Testing is available Friday 8am - 10am

    This 3-day seminar provides an introduction to machinery lubrication and the techniques used to analyze lubricating fluids. The student focuses on machine failure modes and the role of lubrication in asset health, preventive, and predictive maintenance. The student learns the fundamentals of tribology, chemical composition of lubricating fluids, and various types of lubricating systems. This course follows the recommended guidelines for body of knowledge and curriculum requirements for a level 1 MLA or MLT certification according to International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML).


    Students that complete this course with a 70% pass rate or higher will achieve a level 1 certification per ISO 18436-4.

    Lubrication Technicians, Lubrication Analysts, Mechanics/Millwrights, Planners/Schedulers, Machine Operators, Maintenance Managers, Reliability Engineers


    Anyone that deals with the application, storage, and handling of lubricants.

  • PREREQUISITES

    None.  General familiarity with oil and grease applications is helpful.

    OPTIONAL CERTIFICATION EXAM: $275

    • The curriculum for the ALT course follows the guidelines set forth by the ISO 18436-4,1 standard for lubrication certification.  The exam provided by Technical Associates fits the requirements for the ISO 18436-4,1 exam standard.
    • This curriculum also fits the body of knowledge for the MLA 1 and MLT 1 certification exams from the International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML).
    • Students that complete this course with a 70% pass rate or higher will achieve a level 1 certification per ISO 18436-4.
